The basic task of good small house ventilation is to bring clean air to apartment's
living quarters, especially bedrooms, and remove contaminated air from them. In addition, ventilation has a role in removing the unwanted moisture that is formed from ordinary living. Ventilation should be taken into account at the early stage of the building construction (in Finnish,

New housing has to be constructed so that radon concentration does not exceed 200 Bq/m3. Maximum likelihood of high radon concentrations is in the Southern Finland and Pirkanmaa. Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority (STUK) has prepared a map of radon in the whole country that can be referred when building a new house.
