Technology Pieces Get Smaller And Smaller

If we looked back 20 years ago we were still doing most things by stubby pencil

. It was taking us three times as long to a message across town. It almost took the same amount of time to get correspondence across a department by using actual "In" and "Out" boxes.

Then came the mobile phone, it was amazing and everyone had to have it. It was the rage. Nothing brings out the competition than a new product. Soon after the first one comes out the next one comes out with an extra feature or is slight smaller. It was to a point where your new phone was old within the six months to a year and you were on your way back buying the next model.

How fortunate we were when computers came along. The size in the beginning took half a desk, but, again it was modern technology and we were on the train joining everyone for the ride. Once again the competition hit the street and after twenty years you can buy a small laptop about 1" think and 10" wide. You can have website access just about anyway.

The software for the computers we have and depending on what type and model can change almost as quickly as the seasons and yet we keep looking for more. There are more programs out there that can do everything you need, if you look long enough. We want the one program that can provide us audio, be able to upload, data, forms and formats for easy access, retain personal and business information, and allow us to view the information, maintain security, and be mobile so it is available at our fingers touch. We even want things to translate in various languages since a lot of business people travel.

When will we be satisfied as the customers of these gadgets and hand held devices and say enough is enough? Never, the children now days in school are being taught the new technologies in class and they will start expecting more too. They will want the technology dependable and have a low cost. If you think about it why would we want them to go back twenty years ago when we had to wait three days to get a piece of mail?

The customers now expect more from business representatives who expect more from their companies who in turn expect more from technology. Remember that train ride I mention earlier?
